Anne Friedberg is Professor and Chair of the Critical Studies Division in USC’s School of Cinematic Arts. A historian and theorist of media culture, Professor Friedberg is the author of Window Shopping: Cinema and the Postmodern (University of California Press, 1993) and co-editor of Close Up 1927-1933: Cinema and Modernism (Princeton University Press, 1998). Her latest book is The Virtual Window: From Alberti to Microsoft (The MIT Press,2006). She is the incoming president of the Society for Cinema and Media Studies.
