"The Empress of Asia (a Canadian Pacific steam ship) leaves Vancouver for Japan with delegates on board, for an unidentified convention. Several shipboard sequences include position taking and crew inspection. The ship moors at Yokohama where the delegates are greeted by a banner which reads, 'Welcome W.S.S.C.D.'. The impressive Union Station in Tokyo is shown, as is the remains of the Convention Hall which burned to the ground on the eve of the convention. All that remains is a statue showing peasants, children, a globe, and a religious figure."
