"Documentary showing one man, Mac, who lost both hands but, through will-power and initiative, learned to eat, dress himself, and do the other things required for normal living. He visits other wards seeing how other men with other handicaps are learning to overcome them. Men are exercising hands and limbs in crafts and with muscle strengthening apparatus. Others are weaving, playing games, drawing, etc. Mac then learns to drive a car with his artificial hands and goes to a nearby park to see what other handicapped men are doing - canoeing, horse-back riding, cycling, walking, and swimming. Their courage has made possible a rich life in their own homes with work and hobbies in their leisure time. They fought for freedom, the film says, and now we must do our part. The film ends with an appeal to buy Victory Bonds."
