"Film depicting activities of the Shawinigan Water and Power Company. Several dams and power plants are shown: Laurentide, LaGabelle, St. Narcisse, Montmorency Falls, Natural Steps Falls, Seven Falls. Exterior shots as well as some shots of generator rooms and control panels are shown. Substations at Victoriaville, Thetford Mines and Trois Rivieres are also shown. A shot of the rooftops of Shawinigan Falls shows how the industrial city has risen thanks to the abundance of hydroelectricity. Some of the factories located there are shown: Canada Carbide Company, Electro Products Company and the Wabasso Cotton Company. Other evidence of the city's prosperity is found in the Shawinigan Falls terminal railway, the handsome parks and busy streets, the city hall, and the Casdade Inn. Another accomplishment shown is the power line crossing the St. Lawrence River, the highest and longest such span in the world. Montmorency Falls, a Quebec beauty spot owned by the Quebec Power Company is also shown. Electricity is also found in the home, as demonstrated by a family sitting down to breakfast and using an electric toaster. The final intertitle reads: 'Through Shawinigan Power, water develops industry and provides comfort for the citizens of Quebec Province.'"
