"Produced to promote industrial growth in the province of Nova Scotia, this film follows the formation of a marching band. Beginning with a drum major, who discovers a baton on the beach and is soon joined by a bass drummer, the band progresses one member at a time with new musicians joining from throughout the province. The newly formed marching band along with the Truro High School Band, Parrsboro Citizens' Band and The Bowswater Mersey Band, march through industrial locations including Sydney Steel, the Halifax Shipyard, Robb Engineering and National Sea Foods. The Donbin C. B. Citizens Nova Scotia Band is shown emerging from a coal mine shaft as miners riding with them sing a song about Nova Scotia industry. A classical trio featuring a bassoon, violin and topless female cello player, perform on a cliff near the sea and inside an art school amongst works of modern art. Spinning newspaper headlines announcing industrial success and expansion in Nova Scotia appear near the conclusion."
