"An examination of how the Eon Lake airfield, in the Labrador-Ungava region, was constructed. Due to the gap in radio communications between Seven Islands and Goose Bay, a radio beacon was constructed. All supplies - from food to prefabricated buildings - had to be flown in during the winter."

"The building of an airport in the wilderness is the subject of this film. The airport is at Eon Lake, Labrador, and filled the gap between Seven Islands and Goose Bay, between which trans-Atlantic aircraft previously flew blind. Every pound of construction material for the job had to be flown in; men worked feverishly on the frozen Eon Lake to clear an airstrip before spring weather made work impossible. The project involved clearing bushland, levelling ground, constructing pipelines, radio towers, bridges and buildings."
