"By the year 2000, the world's population is expected to double, and most of the population is expected to live in cities. The problems created by cities are enumerated, and the narrator discusses the solutions presently being applied to solve these problems. However, these solutions are being applied only on a small scale, when they should be globally shared. The narrator describes the origins of Habitat, and states that, at the conference, delegates will consider proposals for a healthy environment, and discuss how to achieve international cooperation in the face of multiplying problems and short time. Audio visual projects will play an important role in the conference. The narrator concludes the film by stating that Habitat will be the beginning of a global response to a global challenge."
