"Tommy won't go to school. During in-depth interviews and in play therapy, Dr. Taylor Statten, Head of Psychiatry at Montreal Children's Hospital, brings out Tommy's sense of insecurity. He was born when his mother was grieving over the death of an older child and, thinking the infant could not be affected, she let herself go with him, thus depriving him of the emotional strength a child needs to grow. The realization of the basic problem and the resultant concerted approach by his parents results in Tommy's school phobia being cured after only three trips to the psychiatrist."
