"The film comprises five basic sequences, in its explanation of the uses of cellophane and how it is made. A brief re-enactment of a settler family illustrates a time when the producer and consumer were one and the same. A short history of packaging follows (Bottles, cans, paper, cloth and cardboard) explaining the advantages and disadvantages of each form. The third sequence is of a lumbering operation in the Gatineau, where the production of cellophane begins. The film shows the various chemical processes required in the laboratory and the manufacturing process at CIL's plant in Shawinigan Falls. Final sequence shows various products in a Loblaw's supermarket on display or being wrapped by staff."
