"Mr. Selby, a retired employee of the telephone company, with 50 years service, reminisces about the conquest of time with his daughter's date, as he waits for her to get ready to go out. Using a photoalbum Selby shows the young man the Bell Homestead and various telephone instruments. An animated drawing of Bell's harmonic telephone is shown. Reenactments of the 'Come here Mr. Watson' call. The Philadelphia exhibition demonstration to Dom Pedro and Kelvin and early switchboards, using boys as operators. Selby talks about telephone history up to the around the world conservation of 1935.
